HMC Observes Juneteenth

Today recognizes June 19, 1865, when Union Major General Gordon Granger read federal orders stating that all enslaved people in Texas were free. It is a day to celebrate the emancipation of the last remaining enslaved Americans in the Confederacy.

Juneteenth is not only a celebration, but also a time to reflect on what we as people in the modern world, can continue to work on in order to progress towards a better tomorrow. It is a day to Listen, Learn, and Reflect.
